Today we’re diving in deeper into the world of Twitter.
But before we begin, have you set up your Twitter account yet? If not, go ahead and do that on Twitter.com and then come back to this article. I’ll wait.
Done? Awesome.
Now that you have a Twitter account, you might be wondering how you’re going to make time to Tweet throughout your day. I know that you’re busy, so I have the perfect solution for you.
Meet Tweetdeck, the best app out there for scheduling Tweets (that is purely my opinion).
This is a similar concept to scheduling Facebook posts, which we talked about a few weeks ago. Instead of stopping throughout your day to think of Tweets to post, you can take an hour each week and schedule out your Tweets for days at a time.
However, Twitter doesn’t have a built-in scheduler like Facebook does, so you have to use Tweetdeck. You can access it on your computer through Tweetdeck.twitter.com, or download the free app. I’m going to explain the process as if you are accessing Tweetdeck on your computer. Things may look a little different if you use the app, but the concepts are the same.
Log In using your Twitter Username and Password.
Your homepage on Tweetdeck will have multiple feeds to view, including the people you follow, your direct messages, notifications, etc.
To schedule Tweets, simply click on the “New Tweet” button on the top left side of your page. Type your Tweet into the box, but instead of clicking on the “Tweet” button, scroll down and click on the “Schedule Tweet” button.
This will pull up a calendar that allows you to schedule the day and time you want your Tweet to go out.
That’s it! This concept is pretty simple, but in the long run will save you tons of time. Just like with Facebook, I advise you to take an hour at the beginning of each week to schedule out your Tweets. Go for at least one Tweet each day.
Throughout the week, you can still Tweet at any time you want. However, this way if you’re swamped with other things, you at least know that your Twitter will remain active while you’re away.
